Products - DPMine
The Dynamic Mining Module (DPMine) is a product
which has access to all the data historically collected and analyzed by
the DPV and DPG system, and their respective data sources, and can support any
new data sources that the customer would like to add. While DPG and DPV were
created as real time tools for monitoring, their inherent architecture enables
them to be run against historic data, enabling the user to perform complex
retrospective 'searches' for clinical circumstances. Each of these searches is
much like running a DPG or DPV rule in reverse and yields those patients who
have these clinical parameters selected in the Data Mining Search. Thus for an
example; if the user wished to see a list of all those female patients between
30 and 60 years old whose weight was between 40 and 65 kgs. who had been on
Warfarin, and some class of antihypertensives, who were admitted between certain
dates and who had a Hb of less than 10 during the admission such a search
could be easily made. Each of the patients charts who were selected could
then be reviewed in detail.
Key Features of DPMine
- DPG and DPV Rules can be written and tested with historic data to see what the yield of alerts and warnings would have been. Thus, a rule can be tested in a few minutes using past data before being put into production.
- Drugs of the same class or drugs of different classes can be compared to each other with respect to degrees of organ impact, such as renal and hepatic function, over periods of time chosen by the user. Results are obtainable from these analyses immediately. Previously unknown side effects of drugs might emerge from these comparisons.
- Complex drug combinations, in association with preexisting clinical conditions such as kidney or liver dysfunction, can be retrospectively analyzed and followed using historic data to assess what changes occurred in the index lab functions. For example, one can test to see the effect on WBC of being on Drug1 and Drug2 where the kidney function had been known to be compromised.
